Why are show plates illegal in the UK?
Show (Custom Plates) plates in the UK are only used for show purposes, this means you cannot drive on the road using show plates. This is mainly due to the fact that show plates aren’t designed with the same compliance and standards in mind as a road legal plate. Differences may include larger font sizes, wider spacing and margins between letters, or different materials used for the final product.
What are show plates, and how do they differ from number plates we see on the road?
Show plates, as the name suggests, are intended to be used at car shows or events and are not fit for general UK road use. However, show plates offer a lot more customisation options.

You can choose from a wide range of sizes, fonts, badges, and borders, as well as add your slogans, branding, or messaging.
What do people use show plates for?
The most common uses we see for our show plates are car shows, events, exhibitions, meet-ups on private land, car showrooms & garages, as well as companies using them to promote their business.
How quickly will I receive my show plates when I order them?
We pride ourselves on raising the bar when it comes to delivery. You’ll find a dispatch deadline in the header of our website. If you place an order before the timer runs out on any given day, your show plates will be dispatched the same day to you.
Note: same-day dispatch is not available on weekends. Orders placed on the weekend will be posted on the next working day.

How do I fit show plates?
When ordering your new set of show plates, you’ll be given the option at checkout to add a fitting kit. You can then use this kit to affix your plates to your vehicle. We have two options available for fitting, either by sticky pads or screws.
